The term "thread pitch" refers to the spacing between individual threads on a filter, lens, or adapter. Threading has several other specifications aside from the pitch, as shown in the image below:
PolarPro 86mm and 95mm filters use coarse threads, which have a pitch of 1mm. These will match most modern 86mm and 95mm threaded lenses natively, but there are some older lenses still on the market which will require fine thread filters (0.75mm pitch).
If you are unsure about your specific lens model, we recommend double-checking with your lens manufacturer. Note that many manufacturers do not list pitch by default in their specifications, so it tends to be best to check with their support team directly.
FAQs
How can I use the Helix MagLock filters with my 95mm coarse thread lens?
You just need the Helix 95mm Coarse Thread Base Plate! Note that the Helix system is compatible down to focal lengths of 40mm, on any lenses with 95mm threading. Due to how wide the glass is, the filter frame will typically appear in the shot below that focal length. The non-magnetic filters will give you more room in this regard, they'll be compatible down to ~16mm on most lenses (even with the 95mm thread size).
What about my 86mm coarse thread lens?
Same as above, but you'll need the Helix 86mm Coarse Thread Base Plate instead.
Does PolarPro make fine-to-coarse thread adapters?
Not at this time.
