The battery on the Bluetooth Shutter is a non-rechargeable CR2032. These are coin-shaped batteries which are commonly found in small electronic devices. If the Shutter begins to exhibit connection or power issues, the most common cause is that the battery is running out and needs to be replaced.
Step 1
Start by removing the Shutter from the Grip, if it's installed. This can be done using the included hex key tool. Pull up the rubber cover on the top of the Shutter to access the threading unit.
Step 2
Flip the Shutter over, and pull the battery cover off using the textured area. It should slide right out.
Step 3
The battery inside the Shutter is a CR2032 model. New ones can be found at pretty much any store that sells batteries, as well as online. Swap the existing battery out for a new one in order to proceed.
Step 4
Once the new battery is installed, push the cover back into place until you feel and hear a click. Double-check to make sure the cover is secure by gently pulling on it. Power up the Shutter as a quick test before proceeding, and make sure the green light comes on.
Step 5
All done! The Shutter can now be reinstalled on the Grip.
Pro Tip: The Shutter can also be held in your hand and used as a short-range remote for your phone's camera. This is useful if you'd like to set up your phone on a tripod and get a group photo, for example.
