Do the Shortstache filters offer front threading?
Yes! We're happy to confirm they do, so they'll accept other threaded filters or adapters in matching sizes. Please note this does not apply to the Helix Shortstache filter models, which are stackable with other Helix filters only.
Is the Everyday (1/4) Filter a polarizer as well?
Yes, both the Everyday and the Mist-PL filters are chroma polarizers.
What's the difference between the Shortstache Everyday and the 135 Series Black Mist?
The Shortstache Everyday is a polarizer, in addition to being a 1/4 black mist filter. It's the equivalent of stacking the 135 Series Chroma PL on top of the 135 Series Black Mist.
Is the polarization in the Shortstache filters on par with the polarization in a CP filter?
Yes, it is.
What's the difference between Black Mist and PolarPro's other Mist Filters?
The Black Mist utilizes black particles inside the glass which retain color depth and blacks in your shadows. PolarPro's standalone Mist filters use white halation instead, which will have a more noticeable effect on color and shadows.
Do the 49mm Shortstache filters and 49mm Fuji Adapter make the camera weatherproof?
Not weatherproof, no. The filter and adapter will inherently add some weather-resistance to the camera lens though, since they'll create a barrier between the lens and any rain or debris that might hit it.
Are the 49mm Shortstache filters compatible with the hood for my Leica Q2/Q3 camera?
Yes! We're happy to confirm the 49mm Shortstache filters are compatible with the stock hood for the Leica Q2 and Q3 cameras.
Can I stack my Shortstache Everyday or Mist-PL with a VND?
This is not recommended, since separate polarizers and VNDs tend to interfere with each other when stacked. We'd recommend a VND/PL Black Mist filter instead. See this article for more information.
Can the Leica D-LUX 8 lens still fully retract while a 43mm Shortstache filter is installed?
Yes! Our design team has tested this in-house.
