FAQs
Do the PolarPro LightLeak lenses accept filters on the front?
Yes! The lenses offer front threading (reference the chart above to see the filter thread size), so it's possible to install filters on the front of them.
Are the new lenses compatible with the Helix MagLock filters too?
Also yes! For the Z and RF Mount lenses, you'll need the 67mm Helix Base Plate. For the E and X Mount lenses, you'll need the 58-67mm step-up ring stacked with the 67mm Helix Base Plate.
Are the new lenses compatible with the LiteChaser system?
No, the LightLeak Lenses are not LiteChaser-compatible.
Are the LightLeak Lenses full-frame?
Yes, they are full-frame lenses. Note that the focal lengths are also all full-frame, even for the crop sensor lenses. For example, the Fuji X 28mm LightLeak lens will act more like a ~42mm lens in practice, due to the camera's APS-C sensor.
Are the lenses auto-focus, or manual focus?
They're infinity focus lenses, so they should be in focus automatically. Note that subjects closer than 2-3 feet might begin to appear blurry.
Why doesn't my camera's shutter release with these lenses installed?
You'll need to set your camera to "release shutter without lens". Each supported camera model has this setting. We recommend doing a YouTube search to find your specific instructions, if you're not sure where to look in the menu.
Why does the lens look different between my Sony and Canon Cameras?
The LightLeak Lenses react differently to each sensor and camera setup, making image rendition truly unique. Each camera sensor may capture different color light leaks, and your camera settings will also alter the way your camera reacts to each scene.
Can the lenses be used with adapters for camera bodies that aren't natively supported?
We aren't able to make any guarantees around this. Using an adapter will change the distance between the sensor and lens elements, which may impact the focus.
What comes included with the lenses?
Each lens comes with a dedicated Front Defender included, as well as a rear cap.
What kind of glass are the lenses made with?
The lens elements are made of an optical polymer.
Is it possible to adapt an RF-mount LightLeak lens to an EF-mount camera?
No, because the flange distance is different between those two types of cameras.
